SussexDocFest, the annual Doctoral Festival, returns this June, bringing together the doctoral community to showcase and celebrate the diversity, depth, and importance of your work. Taking place over five days (Monday 05 – Friday 09 June), there will be a range of online and in-person events on offer and lots of opportunities to take part.

We’ll be sharing the full programme shortly. In the meantime check out the Festival homepage and follow #SussexDocFest on Twitter for updates.

Highlights include:

  • Three Minute Thesis Competition live final
  • Research Image and Poster exhibition and networking lunch
  • Excursions Journal Art Exhibit and Talks

  • End-of-year barbecue on Friday 09 June

Research Image Competition
Can you capture your research in a single image?

Submit an entry to our Research Image Competition, designed to inform, engage and intrigue a non-specialist academic audience and offer a visual perspective on current doctoral research. Shortlisted entries will be exhibited on our website and in an exhibition at the new Student Centre on Thursday 08 June.

First prize: £200 towards your research
Second prize: £100 towards your research
People’s Choice: £100 towards your research

Research Poster Competition

Enter our Research Poster Competition, designed to showcase the richness and variety of doctoral research at Sussex and inform and engage a non-specialist academic audience. Shortlisted entries will be exhibited on our website during the Festival and in an exhibition at the new Student Centre on Thursday 08 June.

First prize: £300 towards your research 
Second prize: £150 towards your research
People’s Choice: £150 towards your research
